POSITION(s): Lead ELL Teacher

REPORTS TO:Pell Administratior/Director of ELL
SCHOOL YEAR:2026/2027



GENERAL DUTIES: Serve on an elementary team designed to support colleagues at Pell Elementary School to provide quality education to the students, implement RIDE Schoolwide Reform Plan, and to meet district professional development goals.

LOCATION: At Pell Elementary School

REPORTS TO: Pell Administration/ MTSS Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certification required by the RI. Department of Education in the appropriate subject areas.
2. Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
3. Strong organizational and time management skills.
4. Strong presentation, collaboration and facilitation skills.
5. Demonstrates excellence in classroom management.
6. Ability to know and utilize technology in the teaching and learning process.
7. Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, educational experience, teaching experience, and the interview process.
8. Any such alternatives to the above qualifications as the committee deems appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work collaboratively with teachers, principals, and administrators to be the first point of contact for your team.
2. Attend instructional meetings with principals for professional development and planning sessions before or after school 15 hours per year, approximately 1.5 month
3. Analyze grade level student data to drive instruction and create an agenda for weekly grade level common planning including a Q & A document to be sent out prior to the PLC.
4. Mentor and meet with new teachers as assigned by Pell admin weekly.
5. Check in with grade level peers to provide support with implementation of curriculum
6. Facilitate grade level, common planning and faculty meetings with administrators. Communicate any and all relevant information to your team.
7. Open classroom to model best practice for peers and instructional rounds, use district curriculum resources effectively, collaborate with curriculum coaches during professional development opportunities.
8. Utilize technology in all content areas-professional and instructional
9. Assist in the development of curriculum and arranging grade level events and trips.
10. Responsible for disseminating information from meetings and professional development to your grade level team or area of focus.
11. Complete other duties as assigned by principal or designee.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Stipend $ 1250.00
